100th Day! Hooray!
We had a great time today! Stamping 100, sorting and eating 100 snack items, writing about being 100 years old or having 100 dollars, making 100 Day hats and sorting our 100 Day homework items! The children worked in groups and even though we had early leave, we got our special Centers in! We even did a 100 Day Puzzle Picture of adding 10s! Have fun on this wonderful early leave day! Play hard because we work hard!

Water Projects
What a fun project this was! We have been discussing the Water Cycle and where water comes from and where it goes. One student said, " Sooo....it's in the air but we can't see it"! While the rest Oooood and Ahddd :)
Thank you for your support with this project. Sara said, "We didn't eat out after church because we had to help people who don't have water!" We had fun counting dimes to dollars and learning about money while helping others! Fun Day!

Water, Water Everywhere and Not A Drop To Drink!
We have had a great week studying about water! The students have learned the differences between river water and ocean water. We conducted experiments in the lab with the flow of water and the water cycle! In math, we will continue to raise money to build a well in Africa as part of our class "Caring Cactus" project. Don't give money! Teach your child how to replace a soda or tea with a healthier free choice...WATER and donate that amount to help us...help others!

Water, Water, Everywhere
This week we have been learning about the importance of WATER!
We have talked about what we do with water( drink, cook, wash clothes, bathe, animals live in it...) Most of the world is covered by water and 50% of our body is water! We have also discussed how we are a rare country. Not everyone has enough water. :( We have been experimenting with what it would be like to walk miles and have to get water from a well! We brainstormed on Day 2 on what we could do differently to make the job quicker and easier. Project time next week! This PBL is a winner!

We also have been measuring. We have learned that can measure length and height using cubes. Next week we will use popsicle sticks to measure longer items!! We have discussed longer than, shorter than, longest and shortest. We are learning how to make good estimates of the length of objects.
WE WON THE WINTER READING CHALLENGE!
PANCAKES WITH THE PRINCIPAL COMING SOON...
( More importantly...we became better readers which makes better students who are successful in school! Thanks for making us winners!)

Welcome Back - 2014
Welcome back! I missed these kiddos and we talked about what a resolution was today! Students wrote about something they want to improve on in the New Year! I shared mine first and mine...is to show love to others by deeds and not just words. Great job everyone! Ask your child about his/her writing!
We started measurement in math and students scooped cubes and made 3 towers and ordered them from smallest to largest and drew their findings! Others began working with subtraction fast facts. The kids worked with math on Ipads and played race to 120 ( a great counting game to keep us focused ) !
